Should we not have a bonfire today to haul back and fling them all in?
A WHOOP!
A HOLLAR!
A HIP, HIP, HOORAY!
With a gulp of fresh air to breath in.
Aaaaaahhhhhhh…..
They kept us quite safe for so many a month
and grateful I am for that fact.
But foggied up glasses and muffled up voices
I’m totally fine to give back.
We shouted our way through each eight hour day
breathing exhales that left us quite tired.
Over the ears and across the nose bridge
those darn masks just left us expired.
So can we not have a BIG BONFIRE today
to slingshot them into the heat?
‘Cause today we will see all the smiles that will be
on the uncovered faces.
SO sweet.
WOOHOO!!!

Your slice captures the pluses and minuses well of the mask.

Thank you for saying that! I tried really hard to do that because I did not want my slice to be a political statement of any kind or present a slant or bias of any nature. I am just so happy to be looking forward to seeing smiles today for the first time in two years đ

Reading the previous comments, and yes to them! We’ve been mask-free for a week, and it feels good to see faces, but it has also caused anxiety for many people who aren’t ready to take them off or even feel pressured to do that. We’re living in interesting and historic times, for sure.

Agreed! If nothing else, we have all gotten really good at transitions, that’s for sure! I am also so grateful to be a part of this learning community where I am privileged to have access to so many different expereinces.

I feel like I will not be ready to fling mine off when the time comes, but who knows…Glad you are happy.

Thank you! Another transition for sure, and that is one thing both teachers and students have gotten really good at!

I concur with the joys of being able to safely (and I type this with crossed fingers) not wear my mask while teaching. Thank you for a bit of whimsy today.
